At Oro Medonte Forest School, the safety of your children while exploring the outdoors is our absolute priority. If your child requires any prescription, over-the-counter, or emergency medication to be onsite during program hours, this form must be completed in full before their session begins.
What needs to be registered on this form?
Emergency Medications: Inhalers, puffers, or epinephrine auto-injectors (Epi-Pens).
Routine/Daily Medications: Prescriptions or over-the-counter medications that must be administered during program hours.
As-Needed Medications: Allergy pills (Antihistamines) or topicals required for specific environmental exposure.
Safety Requirements:
The Two-Device Rule (Anaphylaxis): Following standard Ontario safety protocols and our Parent Handbook, children with life-threatening allergies must carry an active, unexpired Epi-pen on their body at all times (e.g., in a secure fanny pack or waist pouch). A second backup Epi-pen must be provided directly to the Lead Educator to carry in the group emergency kit on Day 1.
Labeling: All medications brought to the forest must be unexpired, in their original packaging, and clearly labeled with your child’s first and last name.
Oro Medonte Forest School’s mission is to create an educational community that fosters rich, experiential learning, age appropriate ecological literacy, and promotes healthy living by connecting children to nature through the use of the Forest School model in the foundational early years.
