At OMFS, we believe that the forest is the perfect setting for children to embark on a journey of exploration and learning. Our Forest Adventurers program offers children the freedom to learn through a play-based, emergent forest school curriculum, where the Land becomes their ultimate teacher.
In our nurturing and supportive environment, children are encouraged to engage in hands-on exploration of the forest, discovering its wonders and gaining valuable lessons along the way. We believe that the forest itself provides the greatest source of learning, and we empower children to tap into its wisdom.
With a focus on child-led learning, our experienced educators provide all the tools and materials children need to learn, grow, and build within the forest. Through collaborative projects and interactive experiences, children develop important skills in early literacy, numeracy, and science. They learn to work together, problem-solve, and develop a deep appreciation for their natural surroundings.
At OMFS, we understand the important of combining Indigenous wisdom with environmental stewardship. Through literature, activities and discussions, children develop a strong connection to the history of the Land, and a gain sense of responsibility towards its well-being. We share that our greatest teachers are those who have inhabited this Land for thousands of years and we believe in listening to the wisdom of Indigenous teachers while honouring and respecting culture. We believe that fostering a love of the Land and understanding the rich interconnectedness of all living beings lays the foundation for a lifetime of intersectional environmental consciousness.
Give your child the opportunity to engage in a truly unique learning experience in the Forest Adventurers program. Let your child embark on an adventure of growth and discovery as they become confident, independent learners in the heart of the forest.
